Celebrating and supporting the communities in which we live and work and making a social impact is really important to us here at Office Essentials.

According to NHS England, cancer survival in England is at an all-time high due to the speed and scale of advances in diagnosis and treatment.  The sad reality though, is that as we live longer, more of us will develop cancer ourselves, or will have family or friends who are affected by cancer.

On the 17th of May, our Director Pete Price joined industry colleagues and took part in “The Ride of Life 2024 charity cycling event” starting and finishing at the Bedford Rowing Club.

We are extremely proud of Pete for demonstrating our values and taking on such an amazing challenge to help support the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) – a worthy cause which is in desperate need of support and something that will touch all our lives. In total, they raised £7,500 – a great effort from all involved.
The ride commenced early in the morning, setting off from the picturesque Bedford Rowing Club. The scenic route took riders through the beautiful countryside, featuring a mix of rolling hills and flat terrains, making for a demanding yet rewarding experience. Along the way, riders were cheered on by local supporters and volunteers, adding to the community spirit of the event.

The Institute of Cancer Research, is one of the world’s most influential cancer research organisations. They are a UK charity and their motto is “making the discoveries that defeat cancer”.
